Sometimes I just wanna have fun! This would make a wonderful wedding, anniversary or any other occasion gift.

I love the combination of old and new. “Something old and something new…” - kinda like that.

I have a complete fascination with the old half porcelain dolls. Originally they were primarily used as the toppers for pin cushions. (I’ve made and offer those here in other listings). My idea was to make the skirt of the doll the lid of a box. The box is great for jewelry, trinkets or whatever else fits in it.

The box itself I made from mache and paper clays. I then hand painted it and sealed it with a heavy lacquer. The bottom is finished in a wool felt that I make from various materials on hand.

The dolls skirt is hand crochet of 100% pearl cotton and pearl beads. I use a specialty wire to create the form and body of the crochet.
